YeetIt ("we", "us", "our") is a fun social platform where you can send anonymous clues to your crush — and find out who has a crush on you. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
You must be 18 or older
YeetIt is only for people aged 18 and above. If we find out that someone under 18 has created an account, we will delete their account and all associated data immediately.
What we collect
When you use YeetIt, we may collect:
- Your account info — name, email address, and age when you sign up.
- Your profile — the display name you choose and your age, which appear on your public Valentine page.
- Clues you send — the anonymous messages you write on someone else's profile.
- Basic usage data — things like which pages you visit, how long you stay, your browser type, and your IP address. This helps us keep the site running smoothly.
- Cookies — small files stored on your device to keep you logged in and to help us understand how people use the site.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account
- To show anonymous clues on Valentine profiles
- To reveal your identity (display name and email address) to the profile owner on Valentine's Day — this is a core part of how YeetIt works
- To send you important updates about the service (like the reveal)
- To improve the site and fix problems
- To keep YeetIt safe and prevent misuse
The Valentine's Day Reveal
This is the big one. Here's how it works:
- Before Valentine's Day, clues you send are completely anonymous — the profile owner only sees the clue text.
- On 14 February, we reveal your display name and email address to the person whose profile you left a clue on.
- By sending a clue, you agree to have your name and email shared with that person on the reveal date.
If you change your mind, you can delete your account before Valentine's Day and your clues will be removed.
Your public profile
When you create a profile, your display name and clue count are visible to anyone with your profile link. Your email address is not shown on your public profile — it is only revealed to people whose profiles you left clues on, and only on Valentine's Day.
Who we share your data with
We don't sell your data. Ever. Here's who may see it:
- Other users — your clues are shown anonymously, and your name + email are revealed on Valentine's Day (as described above).
- Service providers — we use trusted third-party services for hosting, login, and analytics. They only access data needed to keep YeetIt running.
- Law enforcement — only if required by law or to protect safety.
Cookies & analytics
We use cookies for two things:
- Keeping you logged in — these are essential and can't be turned off.
- Understanding usage — we use analytics tools (like Google Analytics and PostHog) to see how people use the site so we can make it better. This data is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal information within 30 days. After Valentine's Day, we may keep anonymised, aggregated analytics data (which can't be traced back to you).
How we protect your data
We use industry-standard security measures to keep your information safe, including encrypted connections and secure authentication. That said, no system is 100% bulletproof — we do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You can:
- Access or update your personal information at any time
- Delete your account and all your data
- Ask us what data we have about you
- Opt out of non-essential communications
